Guitar Lessons

Matt is a celebrated professional guitarist, with more than 25 years of experience. He broke onto the local scene by winning San Diego Guitar Trader’s Guitar Wars in 1997. In the years since, he has continued to be a fixture in the local music scene while performing and recording with some of the area’s most-notable musical talents.

While his personal playing style draws primarily from the worlds of rock and alternative, he is equally well-versed in most popular forms of contemporary music. Techniques and theory from any of these styles can be incorporated into lessons according to the student’s personal tastes.

Guitar lessons for beginners through advanced players cover everything from the foundations of proper technique through music theory and songwriting.

Piano Lessons

Matt began his musical journey on the piano nearly 30 years ago. As an avid, long-time keyboardist, he is familiar with the instrument’s many applications in all types of modern music (as well as classical), and can include material from them in lessons per the individual student’s preferences.

Voice Lessons

Matt begin his vocal training with the great late Ron Anderson. Ron trained many of the pop and rock stars we have hear on the radio  from the 70’s all the way up to 2021. He worked with Ron over a period of 15 years learning and practicing his techniques. He also worked with several other coaches as well that were well known in the Los Angeles and San Diego area.

Matt can help students find their true tone and preserve their voice by teaching them techniques that expand range, control and bring out the best of their sound.
